Why is
it important to be a good digital citizen?
It is important to be a good digital citizen, because it is showing your true character. Internet safety is very important and could really ruin someone's life. You would never want to talk about others or ruin anyone's reputation or make them look less credible. A good digital citizen would never try to intentionally hurt another person's property by installing a virus or anything else that could harm their belongings.
What value does a good digital
reputation have?
When you post things on the internet for the purpose of people learning from them, you would not want anyone to think you were less credible. If someone hacked into your computer, and posted something that could hurt your reputation, then you would become less credible. It also shows that you have good morals and values.

Material Generators
One of my favorite types of material generators is the whiteboard activity software. The kind that I use at school is the Promethean Board. I use this on a daily basis for students to take notes. I also use it as a way for students to know what they are supposed to do every morning. It is an easy way to record procedures and flash up on the big screen every morning. I like to use Promenthean planet. This is a website that allows you to find "flipcharts" or interactive notes and activities for the students to interact with depending on what you are teaching that day.
I also like to use rubistar. That is a type of rubric generator. This is a fast and easy way to type in your expectation and it becomes a rubric. This is a good way for all of the students to understand your expectation and to have a written copy of them for daily use. It is also nice for the teacher to have a rubric, because all of the students are held to the same standard and it makes grading the students work less subjective.
I could really benefit from a worksheet generator or a puzzle generator. I have never personally used one, but I would definitely use one in the future. This would be a great activity to grab the students attention at the beginning of a lesson or unit. Give the students a few clues about what they will be learning, and then they have to quickly solve the puzzle as a group to find out what they will be learning. The puzzles can also be used to occupy students time when they are finished with their independent work.

Week 3:
There are many types of software that can assist us as teachers. There are 5 specific types that chapter 3 of our textbook suggests.
1. Drill and Practice software. An example of that might be Brain Pop. This website is great for students to watch videos, complete comprehension quizzes when they are finished, and receive feedback on their work.
2. Tutorial software. An example of this would be Learn Zillion. This website has standard by standard math tutorials for kids to see how to work out a math problem. It acts like a human while teaching the students step by step how to work out a math equation.
3. Simulation Software. An example of this type of software would be Gizmos. It is an imaginary system used to demonstrate the concept. For example, this website can be used for students to demonstrate that they know how to connect a circuit. Students actually move the light bulb and the wires to make the circuit complete.
4. Instructional Game Software. An example of this type of software would be Harcourt math. This type of software makes kids enjoy learning and enhances student engagement. Students can play math games that go along with the standard being taught.
5. Problem Solving software. An example of this would be PBS Kids. It directly teaches though examples and practice. It helps the students learn and polish their skills by giving them practice. Students can play problem solving games on this website
These are just a few of the many resources that can be used with all 5 types of software learning software.

Should Wikipedia be forbidden in students' Social studies research?
I think that students should be able to use Wikipedia in some cases. Some Wikipedia sources have very good information and can help students gain some background knowledge as well! Wikipedia also allows to to see if the source is credible or not. If the information needs more sources, a warning will pop up on the screen to let you know that this site may not be the best source to get information from. I know as a teacher, I use Wikipedia many times myself to figure out things I don't know, so why wouldn't I let my students do the same?
Hello I'm Elle
Hey class!
My name is Elle Wagner. I am a 25 year old, second year teacher. This is my second year teacher teaching fifth grade, and I absolutely love it! I am a newly wed who got married on June 16th of this year! I married my high school sweetheart.
