One of my favorite types of material generators is the whiteboard activity software. The kind that I use at school is the Promethean Board. I use this on a daily basis for students to take notes. I also use it as a way for students to know what they are supposed to do every morning. It is an easy way to record procedures and flash up on the big screen every morning. I like to use Promenthean planet. This is a website that allows you to find "flipcharts" or interactive notes and activities for the students to interact with depending on what you are teaching that day.
I also like to use rubistar. That is a type of rubric generator. This is a fast and easy way to type in your expectation and it becomes a rubric. This is a good way for all of the students to understand your expectation and to have a written copy of them for daily use. It is also nice for the teacher to have a rubric, because all of the students are held to the same standard and it makes grading the students work less subjective.
I could really benefit from a worksheet generator or a puzzle generator. I have never personally used one, but I would definitely use one in the future. This would be a great activity to grab the students attention at the beginning of a lesson or unit. Give the students a few clues about what they will be learning, and then they have to quickly solve the puzzle as a group to find out what they will be learning. The puzzles can also be used to occupy students time when they are finished with their independent work.
